A veteran allegedly committed suicide in parking lot in the Department of Veterans Affairs’ parking lot in Phoenix, Arizona, an event that is being seen as a protest against the failure of the VA to provide adequate treatment to veterans.
Fox News affiliate KSAZ reported early Tuesday morning that 53-year-old Thomas Murphy drove to the VA lot, and left a note in the car before apparently taking his life with a gun. The report said a witness watched as Murphy drove into the lot, and then heard a gunshot.

No, you're just such a crazy individual that no one wants to take the same side as you or even close to the same side. You took what could have been a valid discussion of how we take care of our veterans and politicized it with this.

The chairman of the VA committee will make this disappear until after elections.

He's probably trying his best, but he cant swing enough congressmen to increase the budget.
 
So, let me get this right, recent vets, say, from the last 20 years or so, go into the military knowing full well how fucked up things are for a vet that comes home, but goes anyway, then bitches about it years later? or worse?

Obama shows up and says that he understand that there is a problem and is going to fix it.
New VA boss - nothing changes; exposure if tried to be swept under the rug.
Replaces VA boss - couple of slaps on the hands - nothing changes in terms of operations.
Those facilities that are serving the Vets well, continue to serve.
Those that are screwed up; no change in management/attitude.

There should have been a 3 level house cleaning at any facility that was on the report with delays of over 30 days or fudging #s
Boss, Deputies and department heads.
Department heads could reapply to a new Boss of the facility based on review of performance

Once again....throwing money at something doesn't automatically fix it.

This is not a money issue. This is an issue where its being proven yet again that the government cannot run a program that demands real results. You can't fix these problems by fudging numbers. You can't fix these problems by changing the wording on a memo.

These vets need real care. Do away with the VA and put the vets on the same insurance plan that Senators get. Problem is solved.

Don't senators now get their insurance through the ACA?
 
The VA diagnosed my dad with Stage 4 lung cancer 6 months ago and said he had 6 months to live. 4 months later they realized he was misdiagnosed no lung cancer. Luck for us an orderly let him fall on the ground causing a football size hematoma delaying his chemo for a nonexistent cancer.

The VA dropped my grandfather on his head causing a blood clot that killed him.

The VA needs to be eliminated. Our vets deserve real care.
