are you serious???

I agree with blindspot. I paid $75 for this PSU from Zipzoomfly and I think it's great. I don't really need 500W, and I haven't subjected it to any really high-stress tests, but it's been stable, reliable and quiet so far. I think the OP was dead on in saying this is very warm. I would jump on this if I needed a PSU! I'm curious to know what Hacp would recommend, or what his experience with the SmartPower line is like.

If you are going to get a modular PSU, the Ultra X-Connects are known for being the best. Take a look at them. Nice paint finish and thick cables. They are undoubtedly the best.

Antecs are not the best quality built PSU. I forgot that webpage link, but it was in the category right below the high quality built PSUs.
Still, a good/decent power supply that shouldn't feed your system bad power or blow up.

I have had good luck with them and have not had any problems with them. I would not say the are the top, but they are good quality. Another good NewEgg deal.

Ultra's are known for being the best?!?!? dude, please go away. Ultras are known to burst into flames and thats about it. There is a reason they are $15 AR at fry's...

My 500w SPII is a beautiful PSU and was a steal ($50 AR). Definitly quiet and well worth the money for a solid psu with modular cables.

Ultras are nice, but they are no way the best. Plus, they don't have dual 12v rails and are not, therefore, ATX 12v 2.0x certified. Sheesh. Two completely subjective comments presented as fact in one thread in under 12 hours!! What is the world coming to????

Not only does Antec make a great product, they have top-notch customer service and have sent me replacement parts many times with no questions asked.

I am confused about where you got the dual 12v line thing? No one here is saying they are the absolute worst but they are FAR from the best or even a decent PSU. My friggen old Thermaltake psu beats the ultras hands down.

They are not "Undoubtedbly the best" As many many people and reviews have taken issue with them. There seems to be quite a bit of controversy, so there IS doubt, meaning your statement is false.
