Interesting article showcasing how incredibly wrong most mainstream media outlets can get it unless they step back and actually look at what they find.

I mean seriously, how many reporters and "concerned citizens" do you think heard one or two little tidbits and then completely made up whole stories surrounding them? They hear "enemy lists" and immediately think "they must have been bullied!" They hear that one of the students shot was a Christian (whose parents, incidentally, are gigantic hypocrites peddling her "story" in exchange for money), and immediately assume it was because they hated Christians and targeted them.
 
i went to columbine highschool.

half the faculty denys what happens and the other half dont talk about it. but that picture on the top of the page in the lunch room...i used to eat at that table on the far left above his head.

Stupid. I'm sorry, sure it was a tragedy and should be treated with respect, but those people need to grow a pair.
 
Nothing there is particularly new. They've been saying that those were myths for years.

The one myth that I still hear is that Columbine High School is in a small town. That myth really bothers me. True, it is a small subburb. But it is essentially part of a large city - Denver - but it hasn't been annexed. Just because you haven't been annexed doesn't mean that you live in a small town. I can't count the number of times I heard things like "it just doesn't happen in a small town like Columbine High School and only happens in cities." Well look at the metropolitan map and you'll see that Columbine High School is in a big city.

Edited: Added "High School" in some places to the text to make it more clear for those who don't understand that the "Columbine shooting" refers to the "Columbine High School", not to Columbine, CO.

a lot of the kids that go there now weren't old enough to remember, and i know a lot of my friends(i was 11 at the time)just didn't really care if people brought it up at school. i think they recently dedicated a memorial to the shooting near the school, and they sell 'we are all columbine' stickers at the school.

columbine isn't even a city in denver. columbine high school is part of jefferson county public schools and resides in Littleton, Colorado.

As you can see, Littleton is smack dab in the Denver metropolitan area. So is Columbine high school. It isn't a small town. A small town is somewhere surrounded by farmland or wilderness and usually dozens or hundreds of miles to the next town. The only thing preventing Columbine High School from being in Denver is that it hasn't been annexed yet.

are you serious? i never said it was a small town. I went to Columbine High School. I currently live in Littleton, CO. And go to University of CO at Denver. the 'city' of columbine consists of a few named neighborhoods, one of them is called columbine heights, which is down the street from the high school. and the address to the highschool is 6201 S. Pierce St. Littleton, CO 80123. CLEARLY not in columbine, colorado.

Many people did and still do. The idea that Columbine High School was in a small town is the myth that I am fighting. Even if Denver didn't exist and it was only Littleton, CO, it still isn't a small town.
