Very strange .. Upgraded cpu from 3570 to 3770 today. I had 4 sticks of 4 gb that had been in there before. No other changes made.

I did the cpu upgrade and it failed to boot. I took two sticks out and it booted up with 8 gb. Weird thing is the two sticks that are working are DDR 1 and 3...any time I put any dimm into slots two and 4 it's a no boot. Any idea if this can be fixed? Is this a mb problem or a memory issue ?

Yes, you can straighten it/them out as bankster55 says but you need to be VERY CAREFULL as the pins are made of extremely thin gold and will break if you're not careful.

It might, if your lucky, have just pushed the pin out of the way when you put the cpu chip in the socket. You can get a good magnifier and a bright light and check them carefully after you pull the cpu out. Look at the socket from different angles since the pins are installed at different angles. Check them carefully and you might just try reseating the cpu.
And it wouldn't hurt to upgrade the bios.
