Hi,
I am experiencing an issue connecting to the wireless router of a friend across the street.

Here is the scenario:
The issue only exists with one single USB network adapter and only on when trying to connect to this one router.
The main reason why I want to use this card is the link quality it provides over the distance.

The USB card in question is a powerful Alfa with RTL8187 chip.
It can connect to my own router and two other networks just fine, no issue whatsoever.
The card will NOT connect to my friends router! Again, any other wireless card I tried works just fine.

The router has no IP & MAC filtering in place. We even set it up from scratch. Newest firmware in place as well.
Even spoofed the MAC address of the Alfa card in Linux, still nothing.

In Windows 7 64 the card will attempt to connect "Getting information", ask for security key, "connecting to Network" and then fail.
Profiles in Windows have been deleted, recreated etc...
I have tried the card on 3 different machines as well!

I am out of ideas, probably forgot things to mention I already tried :hmm:

Any comments, ideas, suggestions are much appreciated, it just does not make sense to me!

Update:

I have also ruled out interference & crosstalk issues, distance does not even matter.
Any wireless security settings have also been disabled for testing.

For a change, I have found another unsecured wireless network it will NOT connect to, yet other adapters with enough range will.

Looks like a weird kind of defect. o_O

Log Info from Win7 Troubleshooting:
Can anyone help with the Error codes in here?!

Excerpt from log (info is repetitive in log), I can Google the codes, many post them, I fail to find an explanation what the errors indicate.
