I'm looking for the real small amps that have built in distortion, but can't seem to find them. I'm not looking for the brand where some are clear and some are a cig. box. One I saw was a black box, about 4" x 3" x 2". I've heard the most popular 3-4 amp mfg's make their own, but no luck finding.

How much are you willing to pay? I have a Fender that I no longer use, and am willing to let that go + my practice Kramer for the right price.

I believe Marshall used to make small guitar amps but that was a few years ago.

Yes.

A gradeschool buddie of mine built one into an old cig box. So about 4" x 2.5" x 1"

It was pretty sweet, but real tinny.

He would wear his guitar, wrap the cable between the guitar and the amp loosely around his neck a few times, and be good to go?

Roland Micro Cube. I've yet to hear anything bad about them. Or you could just get a V-amp or a POD and use headphones.

cr4zymofo, is yours a normal sized amp?

I was thinking the one I saw was a Marshall, Peavey or Vox.

The Roland Micro Cube is quite a bit bigger than what I was referring to, but it is cool, w/ 6 DSP effects. Like to have it too. :)

Mine's about 12x12x6, I'll get you the pix tomorrow, cuz I left my camera at work. You're interested in the Kramer also? Wait, are you anywhere in SoCal? Because I think shipping is gonna be a lot higher than what I'm gonna sell it to you for.

I had/have a pignose amp, it was the size of a wallet.

Neither. I listed the size in the OP.

Nothing can touch the Roland microcube as far as price/performance. They are smaller than the Pignose, and have built-in Boss effects. Danelectro also makes a mini-amp that clips onto your belt, and is about one third the cost of the microcube, but sounds pretty terrible. Check out the Microcube, there is no comparison.

The Roland Microcube is about 3x the size as I was talking about...dimensions "(W x D x H): 9-5/8 x 6-9/16 x 8-15/16 in.".

Actually I believe I found them.
music123 has quite a few, as does musiciansfriend (no Fender Mini Twin). Neither sell the Danelectro.
Any of these better than the other?

Marshall has a small amp. Jack Black used it in "School of Rock". THey make a single cabinet, as well as a micro stack. Musicians friend should have it. Costs roughly $50.

Yeah it was the first item linked in my last post.

Not the best reading comprehension in this thread.

i got a pocket-it rock-it headphone amp and i hook it up to my stereo or headphones. its name makes it sound like a dildo.

its very hissy for headphones and decent thru my sound system. kinda dissappointing for a $50 purchase.
