very small ATX case

I've seen some huge ATX cases, but I'm looking for about the smallest that can take an ATX mobo.

Thanks in advance!

A05 is short but deeeep and the backwards airflow is another L-L stupidity.. The Antec 4480 is also small for an ATX case. There is a limit as to how small one can get. Cooler Master sells a Cavalier HTPC sort of casea that is small for an ATX case, but the PSU is kind of iffy and is a non-standard size, though I think a few other are out there now. And nMedia cases (div of Enermax) has an strange shaped ATX case that also puts the PSU in the front - like the L-L, it is short but deeper.

There are several threads on this topic - may be in current threads or back in the archived threads, but still might be some ideas there.

yeah, LL 05B is pretty deep (19.3"). I'm in a hunt for the smallest ATX capable box but aluminum...limited choices.

Well, you can still get a Super Lanboy from the Antec B-stock store and some popped up with Froogle (most were sucker bait - OOS, but I did find a couple on eBay) if you want a new one. About the smallest and lightest (at under 9 lb.) you'll find without much in the way of compromises. And I have a black, mostly aluminum, Cooler Master Mystique 631 w/ window that's only slightly larger and heavier for sale at the link below - get a new EA-380 PSU with it for only $25.00 and no extra shipping - here is the link to the 631:
http://www.coolermaster.com/pr...t.php?act=detail&id=32 - the door can easily be removed to carry around and cut a couple of pounds (heavy aluminum extrusion).

The old Antec Solution (SLK) series are all about as small as mid towers get, I'm pretty sure they have the same dimensions as the Super Lanboy, but all of these cases will be pretty hard to find since they've been OOP for a while now.

The original LAN BOY case was smaller than the Super LAN BOY. That's even more impossible to find, HOWEVER, Xoxide has the original CHENMING versions of the LAN BOY, but updated to use a 120mm exhaust fan. The aluminum is even thinner than the Super LAN BOY and dimensions are smaller. I would be confident in saying that there's no ATX "normal" form factor case (with PSU on top) you can easily buy today from a normal vendor that is smaller or lighter.

Anything smaller will have the PSU in odd places, such as over the CPU area or in the bottom front of the case (blocking long video cards like the 8800GTX).

Cool Zap, those CHENMINGs look nice.

They are pretty nice. I actually wrote a review on those cases back in 2003. 😀 Now the case is cheaper, can hold a bigger fan in back (120mm versus 80mm) and has a side window. Win!

I have an Antec SonataIII... I know it's not the smalles nor cheapest you can find, but it's so cramped inside! My Tuniq barely fits there, same story for the video card, and if that wasn't enough, i have to insert the mobo one end at a time. It sure feels damn small to me. Just out of curiosity, what do you need a midget-size case for?
