Heres the problem.. About maybe a week ago.. I noticed my computers startup was alot slower. I noticed it at the startup screen with the windows XP logo with the bars goign across at the bottom... It does about 7-9 passes.... It usualy would do 3/4 of a pass... So after awhile.. I finaly said "Screw it" with all my attmepts to speed it up.. And formatted and did a fresh install of Windows XP pro SP2(slipstreamed)..And I still have the same problem.. it seems like the whole system is idle, the HDD isn't working, or anythign untill the like 6th pass of the bars...

Any help?

Have you made some changes to your networking configuration or changed out any networking components (ie, NIC, router, etc)?

Extremely well. Just as well as usualy 🙂

i know this is not the answer you are looking for, but if it all works fine when on, and their are no issues, event logs look good, i wouldn't worry about it. boot up times don't have any meaning with computer speed.

want to talk about slow boot up, if you ever go scsi it takes forever compared to normal ata drives...

or you could just leave the machine on.
