Why would anyone mention these, all 3 movies are incredibly different. This is as stupid as Whoozyerdaddy bringing up all the 2007 movies for coincidentally being the 3rd of a trilogy, yet sharing nothing else in common. Just because they're all comic book based doesn't make them candidates for being mentioned in this thread.

Kill Bill/Kill Bill part 2
A. those movies weren't released at the same time
B. those movies are essentially two parts to one movie
C. they're actually relatively different movies (the first being almost complete action with the second giving it a bit more of a story)
D. the point of this thread is to come up with similar movies made by an entirely different crew/production studio that were released around the same time...

How close is "about the same time"? one year? 2?
pretty sure the point is that they're out in theaters at the same time, 6 months would be pushing it, let alone one or two years...

Damn, this thread is full of fail. Too bad its just another 'list' thread where people just list their movies to easily add to their post count without actually reading any other posts (including the OP) or without thinking in general.

Anyways, I think the OP named just about all the major ones that come to mind whenever seeing similar movies come out around the same time.

I remember seeing the preview trailer for 28 Days Later during the premier of the Resident Evil movie and hearing it proclaimed as a "bold new direction in zombie thrillers" (referencing the viral infection aspect).
