diet tonic? Isn't tonic just carbonated water?

Not even close.

Ingredients: Carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup and/or sugar, citric acid, natural flavors, sodium benzoate (preservative), quinine

(typed from Schweppes US site)

so it's sprite. I always thought tonic was the same as club soda.

and Beefeater has the most pleasent aftertaste for big brand ultra premium gins that I've tried.
Lol, Beefeater is not ultra-premium.

Beefeater has compared favorably to Sapphire in taste tests.....

I prefer Sapphire, it's all I drink. 29.95 for 1.5L at Costco... 🙂

tonic is NOT club soda.. the quinine gives it a flavor all its own.. and I'm protected from malaria... nice....

Not nearly as sweet as sprite, though it's actually pretty tolerable by itself.

There really is no good equivalent to it.

The quinine makes all the difference. It could be your lifeline in case you manage to get yourself infected with malaria. 😛

$29.95 for a 1.5L? Damn that's like 1/3 off what I typically pay.

Beefeater is OK, but certainly not on the same level as Sapphire.

Thoes people tested must have never had any gin in their entire lives.

Go with gin and tonic. VERY stiff.
