Had a little tizzy with a mod from Dev Hardware the other day, he was being a total arsehole to a member. His name is DMOS. I''ve got firm opinions of how a mod ahould be, and that doesnt include being abusive to members and encouraging others to do the same. I think it's a bit disgracefuul personallym and I told them that too. See his reply and the thread here...

Though I'll have you know that DMOS is also a moderater/admin/writer/editor/ass-kicker for this site, and can flame idiots who give dumb suggestions like this (volcano 12? seriously stfu) in any way he sees fit, and I agree with him 100%.

Not all boards (actually very few) are civil to idiots. AT is just a rare example where civility is implied.

A forum owner can dicate the tone of his boards and appoints his mods to keep it in line. There are some boards where you post wrong and the people around you begin hacking against you.

My thoughts, you don't like it post elsewhere. The locals have spoken on it there.

I dont think post count is a substitute for intelligence or manners somehow...

And I was merely commenting on their behavious when compared with my good experience of the mods from here on Anandtech and the other forums I post at. Nothing more nothing less. I think Anandtech is the perfect basis for comparison to be honest.

But you are 100% correct Richdog, in thinking that Mods should be here to help, not harass and hinder.

Right, but who says manners and intelligence is what a board should be based on?

I think as far as manners go, you commenting on a mod's behavior having been there for perhaps not even a full month hinges on extreme rudeness.
