It's amazing what $800 can buy you these days. The performance delta between my machine right now and my old Dell 9300 laptop is far greater than I'd ever imagined it would be. My machine is spec'd out as follows:
Core 2 Duo 4300 @ 3Ghz
Biostar 965PT
2GB DDR 533 (@667 4-4-4-12)
Leadtek 7900GS 256MB
Chaintech AV-710
Seagate 320GB 7200RPM HDD
Westinghouse 37" 1080P monitor (already owned)
MicroDAC feeding Trends TA.10 amp feeding NHT Absolute Zero Monitors (already owned)
This setup is absolutely unreal. The Westinghouse is a beauty, and at 4-5 ft away it is the perfect size. Movies look and sound amazing, I can multi-task so many things without seeing nary a hit in performance. This is what the next-gen of computing is all about and I'm loving every minute of it. I'm so glad I decided to upgrade and join the rest of you guys. I will take pics of my setup, but the pics just won't even do it justice.
