Man, Anand has an incredible level of tolerance; far more than me. I'd have left the twerp bleeding and crawling for the door.

All I can say is Anand handled that with total class. That's why I came here and that's why I keep coming back (even though we still don't have SETI support!) ;)

Cheers Anand!

Rob

PS - Notice that the freaking worthless troll never responds after Anand's post? Typical... Bu bye troll! :|

I love this phrase in his post:

<< Secondly, you've got to give me some credit here. What you're assuming is that the minute someone flashes a green bill in my face I'll immediately drop to my knees and become their whore. I have just a *tad* more integrity than that. You're just going to have to take my word on this one since there's no real way I can prove it to you or anyone else other than by giving me a chance and letting my actions speak for themselves. The net is very self-regulating, and I've always believed that those that aren't reporting the truth or aren't making a conscious effort to provide honest information will eventually feel the effects of the self-regulating internet. >>

I don't understand why anyone listens to someone like jhalada. He is a Jr. Member with his profile inaccessible. That could have been his first post. After Anand's post two more Jr. Members chimed in. One did have the profile on and it was his first post, he joined today. They could have all be the same person! They could be someone who came here just to try and discredit Anand. Ignore them!

Hehe, I think that this speaks for itself.
I have always seen Anand as a class guy. His response to this troll was much better than I could ever have done.

Anand also said:

"AnandTech has close to 2 million individual readers now!"

Wouldn't it be nice if we could only get 10% of them to join the team? :p:p

Peter.

Yes, nice response by Anand, though he has clearly led his readers astray yet again:

<<Thanks for the support guys, but there's no reason to flame someone because of his opinion>>

There was every reason in the world to flame that witless moron. Nothing wrong with questioning SPEC's utility as a benchmark, but there was no reason to question his integrity for choosing to use it. Anand is simply a nice guy and that has always come through in his writings, particularly in the "golden days" when he was running this place out of his bedroom.

Jim .. in the "golden days" I know Anand went through many sleepless nights, wrestling with the decision of whether to keep the forums or not.. simply because no matter what he did or said, there was someone waiting to take a 'cheap' shot at him on the very platform that he provided for them..

<< he has clearly led his readers astray yet again:>>

could you explain that a little??

are you saying that 'we' have an obligation to flame every witless moron??

Dale
a flame is a terrible thing to waste, and it is wasted on a witless moron

If ever a "witless moron" deserved to be flamed, this was the one. It wasn't a pure troll post, otherwise ignoring it may be the best response. And there is nothing wrong with questioning methodology of testing, etc., but he had no reason to smear Anand with the Intel sell-out accusation. Anand is the fairest and most comprehensive reviewer on the web. That is what attracted me in the first place many years ago and is why I keep coming back.

The "...led his readers astray" comment was intended as sarcasm, hope it came through that way!! I realize Anand can take care of himself, and his statement of editorial policy was a nice read. That still doesn't mean the little twerp should get away with impugning Anand's honesty.

thanks for explaining for me.. really.. I always read your posts and value your opinions..

I was afraid we were going to have to hire more people if we had to flame ALL the morons ;)

you are right.. each person should select the morons that he/she has time to flame
