VERY IMPORTANT desk accessory advice needed...

Ready?

What the freak do you guys sit your drinks on at your PC desk?

I have tried stone ones, a paper towel, there must be SOMETHING out there that I can sit my drink on that will absorb the sweat from an iced glass and not drip everywhere!

Hmm you must have your drinks awfully cold if they are building up that much condensation. If it's really that bad you could put your glass on top of a plate, or in a bowl.

Whatcha need a coaster for?
My PC comes with a built-in cup holder...

An ashtray is your best bet. It has sides about 1/2 inch high, the average ID is just right for a glass / cup / soda / beer and it has the advantage of being able to catch minor spills. Cheap too. Check out your local Walmart / Target / Dollar Store .. you will find one there.

Humidity during Midwest Summers can build up condensation really quick.

I've got coasters all over my place. One that I use the most is made of rubber and has a little lip around the edge that can contain minor amounts of liquid. I also have ones made of leather, which absorbs small amounts of condensation.

I use these.

They have a hard top, but if they get really wet (as happens sometimes in the Midwest on humid days) they have a small gap between the top and the metal side. That allows the interior foam to absorb any extra condensation if there is a lot of it. I did try using one as a hammer a few days ago when putting a magazine rack together, and that didn't work so well. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend them as a hammer, but they work great as coasters in a humid environment.

I love it! That is hilarious! And, don't think for a minute that it hasn't been tried!

Wow. Welcome to the internet stech1, please enjoy your stay.

I cut my old (no longer worn) jeans up, and put it into two layers, and criss-cross the patterns & sewed it together. Jeans coaster. absorbs moisture/water too. 😉

Of course, if you're not overly concerned about the condensation issue, we all have a selection of coasters laying around...

😳 Well...according to most of the folks in the Off Topic threads, that's also an important desk accessory...🙄
