I run BOINC and recently I was checking for cpu usage and found that when I listen to music online (streaming), my cpu usage fluctuates from 10-25% and sometimes spikes all the way up in the 50%. Very high cpu usage
I have 1 gig of ram, right now running P4 2.6ghz HT at stock. Using onboard Realtek AC650 on Abit IS7.
I was just curious why the cpu usage is so high? I know onboard sound is not optimal but I didn't think the effect would be this significant?
It's not a big issue but I was suprised how little of my cpu was devoted to BOINC when I was doing other things like listening to music which surprisingly took A LOT more cpu cycles than I ever imagined.
