That's my stance. I wouldn't have an issue with it in /this/ case, but you can't make laws for individual people, or circumstances. They'll be twisted, and abused as those in power see fit.

Actually it depends on which acid. Hydrochloric acid sold at the store as "muriatic acid" stings like a bitch. The acid I would get on my fingers every fucking time was nitric acid. It's a very very strong acid, but it doesn't hurt because it instantly kills the nerve endings. The outer layers of skin turn yellow, get dry, and they eventually flake off.

With the current rules, death penalty is usually more expensive because it's so drawn out and painfully inefficient. If they had a 1 year fast track to death then it would definitely be cheaper.
