Yea that forwarding thing sucks.

Anyone have a link to that guy who custom built a PC for his Audi? That one was turbo sweet.

thats pretty cool, makes me want to do that to my G35, mine is even the same color so I know it would look sweet

I would try to fit the PC in the 2nd glove box though, would make things a lot neater.

Edit: thats pretty gay him and his brother have the same car.

I wonder how long that PC will last in the trunk of his car. That's probably the one place in the car where it will get the most shock from bouncing around. I would expect one good bump while the hard drive is reading or writing could ruin his day.

Incidentally, would appreciate any links to forums/parts suppliers for that sort of thing... will check out mp3 car a little later. I'd like to do something similar (but not so god awful :) in my Durango, but my goals are:

1) Hide everything, leave only the monitor exposed
2) Store the PC in a recessed floor panel in the trunk or possibly the console (plenty of room in there)
3) use USB for all my connections, flush mount a DVD drive somewhere near the driver, probably a slot loader, but definitely expose nothing but the slot
4) Use it primarily as a navigation system but secondarily as mp3/dvd player or whatnot
5) Have something that can be operated by a non-nerd

My big concerns are getting the right parts and getting high quality parts, but also not positive about the software interface, what my GPS options are, and how to handle having an effective touchscreen.

I want something that is 100% as good as an in-car nav system when it comes to usability. I'm not confident that's easy to pull off.
