Very confused Please Help

Hello,

I have recientaly obtained a copy or Half-Life: Platinum Collection. There is a problem with it, I can't seem to play it online! Well here is what happens, I connect to a server full or not full and login everything goes fine. Well 30 seconds into the game my internet connection craps out on me... BTW I have a HPR00200 Phoneline DSL/Cable Router connected to an Alcatel speed touch HOME DSL modem. I play the game for 30 seconds like I said before, but the connection laggs and I get disconnected from the server and thus I see down in my taskbar the networking icon says and I'm quoteing "Network Cable Unplugged" I look under trubleshout and nothing. I do belive it has something to do with my crap router and Phoneline setup. Ooo my ISP is Bellsouth and its a DHCP connection and my ip changes ever 15-18 hours.

It usually won't let you even log on if you have the same key as someone else, even if you paid for it, I've had problems.

But, have you tried reinstalling the drivers for your NIC?
 
could we please get a complete run down of your system, including motherboard, and all installed components? Might be a chipset issue, might be conflicting devices, check in device manager for any conflicting devices.
