I agree with someone who posted above. I can barely remember how my teacher yelling at me, or some stupid tramp turned me down for a date in HS, and how it made me feel - or how I thought it was soooooo bad. The fact is that I can barely remember it, and I'm only 24.
Kevin. Your going to look back on this and realize how stupid it is to get so worked up about absolutely nothing. So, right now - you should simply enjoy the fact that this pathetic excuse for a bad day, is the worst you've ever had. You don't know how lucky that makes you.

Thanks for the first really helpful advice. Its late in the year so switching is out of the question.

High school and all the "friends" you have there mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING once you graduate, enjoy having these "friends" while you have the chance, I can almost guarantee you'll never see most of them again once you graduate. They're NOT the friends you're going to have 3 or 5 or 10 years down the road.
2. If you seriously think this is the "worst day ever" man o man are you in for one serious reality shock once the REAL world kicks in. High school is NOT the real world. High school is the last chance to screw around and be a moron for a few years.
My suggestion is this, if you can't handle a day like this.....quit life now. Life sucks, get used to it.
Anandtech hasn't "failed you miserably", you're just getting the truth like it should be told.

Nailed on the head. You're in class to learn, not socialize. When she is done yapping, read your notes or your book.
I about pissed myself whe nyou said you were going to your cars. You have no idea how good you have it if you have a car in high school. I had to walk 2 miles to get to school, rain or shine. I bought a $300 beater, a month before graduation. You probably were given the car you drive.
Stop bitching, start listening and learning in class. you think you may be cool and funny now, but when you get in the real world, judging by your post, you will be a major failure if you keep acting the way you do.

Don't know if this will help or not, but anyway.
It's true that HS means nothing in the big scheme of life. It's understandable that it means a lot to you, right now, though, since that's where you are.
My view is that the teacher had been unhappy with the group of "fun" classmates for a while. Today she hit the breaking point. You might be right in that they didn't do anything different or over the line, but the cumulative effect added up to her snapping today. And I think your perception of what your group was doing might be different than hers. HS students are just poor at being aware of what they are doing in relation to others. That's a fact. You (the group) were probably too loud, or someone said something that set her off.
When you associate with the class clowns, don't expect to be treated differently because the one occasion that someone flipped out on you was when you weren't doing anything. You get nailed for the cumulative commotion. You might not think that's fair, but that's reality.
You also learned a good lesson without having to suffer any consequences - don't drive when you aren't 100% concentrating on your driving. You don't have the skills and experience to get away with that.
