Very annoying problem

I have an ASUS M3N78=VM motherboard, all the USB ports are designated as USB 2.0. On frequent occasions I get an annoying info box at the bottom of the screen saying "This device will perform better if connected to a high speed USB port..." ,
Clicking on the message it opens a box, names the device and shows the available USB 2.0 in bold face. Yet all the ports are supposed to be high speed! I know it's now biggie to just close the info box but it is just REALLY annoying.
Could it be the devices themselves are not USB 2.0 compliant?

Any thoughts?

unless there is a unique bios setting for high speed usb on your board, it sounds like a driver issue...

I would go into device manager, and see if there are any yellow or red flags for your usb hubs... You might want to just uninstall all of the usb related entries, and reboot, and let windows reinstall.....

Might check BIOS and make sure enhanced USB is turned on (or compatibility mode turned off, etc) and make sure you're not using a hub or something. If you don't have anything in device manager that says "enhanced usb" you don't have USB 2.0 enabled.
