very annoiing YET STUPID KEYBOARD/ MSWORD PROBLEM

Hey guys.

I am experiencing a very stupid, yet annoiing keyboard problem.

Whenever I highlight/select a word in MS WORD and press backspace on my keyboard, the word is NOT erased. The curson simply moves to the beginning of the word/phrase.

How do I set it back to normal so that pressing delete over a highlighted phrase will delete it?

That is weird. Can't help you to much though.. Might be a program setting.. you could try the ever wonderful reinstall.

Something you might want to try before reinstalling Word: Delete the normal.dot template file. I've seen this file cause loads of problems at work, anything from stopping documents printing, causing Word to load slowly, causing Outlook to crash, causing the PC to crash!

Delete any version of the file sitting on your system then start Word again - it will create a new version.

It may not make any differfence, but I've seen that damn file cause so many different issues that I always try it before anything else.

Under Tools / Options, go to the Edit tab and check "Typing replaces selection"
