Anyone run into this? I have an ASUS P4P800 Mobo. Any issues known with this vid card and mobo?

Sapphire 9700 np
ASUS P4P800.

Fresh install of XP pro

DirectX9 installed then installed Cat 3.6,, had vertical lines
uninstalled 3.6 and tried cat 3.2.. still had the lines.

Thanks,

GM

The higher I go with my resolution, the worst the lines get. I will try to post a screenshot.

Take a look at the screen shot HERE

WTF is this?

Yeah, thats a faulty card. RMA it.

The card is not faulty. Just put it in another system and it works perfectly. Its just a picky card.
I had an ASUS P4S533 and it worked great with the Radeon 9700np.
The new ASUS P4P800 and the Radeon dont seem to like each other.
Anyways, my friend is buying the Radeon from me, and I'll use that money towards a GeForce FX 5900 non ultra.
It will only cost me an extra 90 to 110 bucks to upgrade this way.

I read the owners manual for the P4P800 and it says this:

"If installing the ATi 9500 or 9700 Pro Series VGA cards, use only the card version PN xxx-xxxxx-30 or later, for optimum
performance and overclocking stability."

Which means, I'm s**t out of luck. No biggie.

I wonder how many other P4P800 owners have trouble with the radeons.

Thanks guys,
BS'd enough

That's a very good suggestion Nick, but its already a done deal. I am really into plug n play hardware, not plug n pray.
So I will be heading back to the nvidia camp. My friend is mega psyched about getting my radeon. Gave him a good deal ya know..
Even if I wanted to, I can't renig on the deal. It would ::::sniffle:::: break his heart...... 🙂

Thanks anyways Nick. I thought about trying the dongle, but then I thought, why should I have to do this. It should work either way.

Later
