I broke out my old Vertical Horizon CD as I was in the mood for something a little mellower and quiet today. I forgot how much I love 'em! Seriously, if you dont mind music that's a bit softer than much of the crap rock thats out there today, give them a listen. Great music, great lyrics. There's also a buncha bootleg MP3s floating around with VH and Pat McGee performing together.

Isn't Vertical Horizon the defining band of that genre?
The fact that they played with Pat McGee gives them a little more credence in my book, but I'm still not a fan. Kryptonite? Meh.

As far as I know, they never sang a song called "Kryptonite". Perhaps you're thinking of 3 Doors Down?

Is there a particular CD you like the most?

I REALLY like their live performances, so I'd have to say "Live Stages" is my favorite, but if you're down for a studio polished CD, grab "Everything You Want" (which is also the name of their 'hit single' that people may have heard)... The song Everything You Want is also in the game 'Karakoe Revolution Vol 1" for PS2

Nice! LOL

It'd be funny if he knew what band he was talking about... read further down the thread. He got "pwned".

So you sailed away
Into a grey sky morning
Now I'm here to stay
Love can be so boring

Nothing's quite the same now
I just say your name now

[Chorus]
But it's not so bad
You're only the best I ever had
You don't want me back
You're just the best I ever had

So you stole my world
Now I'm just a phony
Remembering the girl
Leaves me down and lonely

Send it in a letter
Make yourself feel better

[Chorus]
But it's not so bad
You're only the best I ever had
You don't need me back
You're just the best I ever had

And it may take some time to
Patch me up inside
But I can't take it so I
Run away and hide
And I may find in time that
You were always right
You're always right

So you sailed away
Into a grey sky morning
Now I'm here to stay
Love can be so boring

What was it you wanted
Could it be I'm haunted

[Chorus]
But it's not so bad
You're only the best I ever had
I don't want you back
You're just the best I ever had
The best I ever had
The best I ever

I saw a young man by a telephone
He was sitting alone in the rain
I said, "Hey, young man what you doing here?"
He said, "Sir, I'm going insane"
See I love an American beauty
But nobody here understands
So he looked to the sky with resentment in his eyes
And said, "Lord, why am I in Japan?"
Lord why am I in Japan?
He told me a story about yesterday
How he walked in the search of a friend
But nobody came to his rescue
So he came to his bitter end
He pulled me close and said
"They all stopped and stared
As I walked down the street alone
And nobody knew my name
Nobody knew my name"
I said, "Young man I know where you're going
And young man I know where you've been
But I've been in this land for a lifetime, it seems,
And I'm never to come back again
No, I'm never to come back again
So I turned and I gave him my blessing
And I left him alone in the rain
But I had to just stop and laugh at myself
Still nobody knows my name
Nobody knows my name
