Im curious to know if anyone has ever ordered a Vermont Teddy Bear for someone for that special occasion. Im thinking of getting this for my mother instead of getting her flowers/candy.

i was thinking the same thing that $70 for a teddy bear is expensive. To get flowers you are going to spend on average $30 and they will last a week, a bear will last many years.

What makes them worth so much? Do women like them just because they know they're expensive?

They're well constructed and custom-made. My guess is that women like them because they're a) cute, b) personal, and c) unique (not the usual flowers and candy).

Aren't they like $300 for a stupid bear? I've never ordered from them for Valentine's Day because my wife would shoot me for wasting money.

I got one for my gf. She seems to like it. IMO, the price isn't such a big deal because even though flowers are cheaper, they are uncreative and don't last more than a week. Plus it's only a one time thing. It's not like saving $30 and getting flowers instead will matter in the grand scheme of things.

edit: No, they are not 300 dollars

They are under $100 for the off-the-shelf ones. You often end up spending the same that you would spend for a dozen roses + delivery. But they last forever, and they have a lifetime replacement guarantee. They are extremely well made, although IMO they make better decorations than stuffed animals because they are a little on the firm side.

My mother has one in her house. She changes his outfits with the seasons.

I got one two years ago for mom. It came out to less then $40 shipped during the holidays. The delivery box is cute(has an air hole). It even comes with a little box of chocolates.

A nice, beautiful boquet of flowers can be gotten for under $25 at specialty flower shops. That's no where close to one of those bears.

$15.99 two day, like $10.xx-11.xx for ground, from what I remember. They sent me a free shipping code if you need it.

Around Christmas, there is always a 10-20% off coupon. Basic bears can be had for cheap.

I always pondered dismembering one of those bears into 2 arms, 2 legs, head and torso and then attempting to send in each piece one-by-one until I ended up with 6 bears...

still having checkout problems... anyone else ? Tried FF and IE. Site doesn't want to respond.

I just did a live chat via the link on the site and they said to just call 1-800-829-2327 and place the order via phone.
