Verizon's PRL updated

Bateluer

At least, it did for my Droid when I checked it this morning. PRL version 51716 after doing the *228, Opt 2.

FYI for people.

updated and now have same number, no idea what the number was before. Wonder how often the PRL is updated.
Would this be simply only for roaming (as the name PRL would imply), or would this be the way that Verizon would also update phones to make better use of the Alltel towers for more seamless service?

I got slightly getter reception at my desk at work, but they may be finishing up with some AC work that was disrupting my signal before. Droid constantly flips to 1X there with almost no signal. 🙁

Thanks for the link, was just really wondering what PRL is - so info came just in time

never thought about roaming in US between roaming networks, but it does make sense.
in Europe you can see that changing a few times every day when traveling - roaming agreements are intricate, and the same provider having operations in multiple countries tries to "default" your phone to their local counterpart regardless of the price for local calls (duh). hence it is always useful to make your own research and change manually the preferred network to the cheapest if calling locally.
