You mean best phone for you? I assure you for my needs nothing comes close to touching an iPhone. The Droid is nice, but it cannot do what I need my phone to do. So the Droid is totally off my radar.

I am curious, what can your iPhone do that the Droid is incapable of? If the iPhone is capable of it, then the Droid is as well. They are based off the same CPU, have touch screens, flash memory storage, etc. The Droid just has a larger screen, larger resolution, real keyboard, replaceable battery, upgradeable RAM, better OS, etc.

I use Logmein to connect to my clients PCs to do work while I'm off site. There is no Logmein client for the Android and there isn't one planned. I have about 50 clients who use Logmein so without a way to connect while I'm on the go to fix problem I'm screwed. There are VNC clients for the Droid but I only care about Logmein since it's all I can use.

Also Android isn't a better OS, that is just an opinion. They're both pretty capable, I'm not sure which I like better. I've used both and I honestly find them both fine. It's the apps for them that make them worth using. And as it stands, iPhones have a much better selection of apps. And the real keyboard is easily the worst qwerty I've used. I played with a Droid and if I owned one would only use the virtual, the qwerty is that bad.

Seems Logmein does have an Android client planned. iPhone has a wider selection of apps now, but that gap narrows daily. Android phones soon outnumbering iPhones in a year not withstanding, Android becomes a better OS by virtue of being open source. iPhone OS is proprietary and the user surrenders control to Apple. I'm not a fan of this.

No we don't, I jailbroke my iPhone and can run any apps I please. There are thousands of non apple approved apps out there. I surrendered nothing to Apple, I install what I please when I please. I don't really care if the OS is open source, as the SDK's are available to anyone who wants to develop for it, so I haven't see anything yet it can't do. Good to hear they're working on an Logmein client (this is news to me) but if they're not going to demo it until February I'm going to assume it's still a long ways off.

Android phones can be rooted as well, giving the user more control over the device. I am a big fan of jail breaking though. :)

Last I checked, though, the iPhone SDKs were only available for the Leopard and Snow Leopard platforms? The Android SDK's are available on Windows, Linux, and OSX.

Not to mention how customizable a droid is with widgets, background screens, etc.

I'm done with Verizon. I REALLY hated the customer service, it was faster to drive 30 miles to a Verizon store than it was to talk to a real person on phone. I was having issues with my phone(s) not being able to do anything while showing 1 to 3 bars of service, No Text No internet, No Phone. They kept blaming it on the phone even though I had 3 different phones under the contract and they ALL did the same thing around my area. I was hyped about getting a Droid but switched to AT&T and got an iPhone instead and haven't had a single issue with the service, it works just as good with 1 bar as it does with 5 bars. I only have the 2G Edge network around me but it isn't much slower than my Verizon "3g" was. I get ~250kbps with EDGE and only got 300-350kbps with Verizon 3g. I had to call AT&T once with a question and got a REAL person that spoke GOOD English in less than 1 minute.

I didn't notice that part, since it's still not out and I have heard nothing about it, I gotta assume they just scrapped the product. Logmein in by far the best VNC on a mobile device. I would strongly consider getting a Droid if Logmein releases this client. Doesn't look like it's going to happen though.

Must be your regional support and network.

Here in Ohio, speed tests show I can get close to 2mbps at times, though downloads vary from 100kbps to sometimes spiking to 1000-1500kbps. Android market seems to be the worst - though at least the larger the file, the faster it gets.

Not calling you a liar by any means. ;) Just saying, I know experiences can vary based on region and maybe in your region they just aren't that great. Though I think phone support is all national (might be wrong), but getting good support personnel versus bad support might just be luck of the draw.

And phone support is snappy. I've always said half the reason I'll stick with Verizon is the coverage, the other half is the customer support, which I've had nothing but amazing results whenever I've had to call.
