verizon phones

my contract with att finally expires on friday, so to celebrate i'm going to dump it like a bad habit and switch to verizon. all i really care about for my next phone is reception, so if you know what phones have the best/worst reception, please chime in. and if you know anything about the verizon phones that are rumored to be coming out in the next few weeks, please share 🙂 tia

The old star tacs still work the best but i dont think u can get them anymore.
I have had 2 different LG models and have had no problems with them.

Had an LG510, now a LG VX10. Decent phones, but battery life is a bit on the low end. I hear the LG camera phone, VX6000(?), has really good voice quality. But if you are looking strictly at just reception, I believe the moto V60 is what you should look at. They may not offer the v60i's anymore though, but an updated ptt rehash maybe out now, look for the v60p.

here are the phones that are upcoming that i am curious to look at/possibly upgrade to...
samsung a610
lg vx7000
audiovox 9900

currently i own a .lg vx4400 and i am veryhappy with it, but with newer phones getting better and talk/stand by time increasing and phones becoming more and more feature-rich, i have to try and keep at least some pace with technology. and yes, like an above poster mentioned, a lot of people are happy with the lg vx6000. i would've gotten this phone, but with newer phones coming soon, ill wait for one of the above mentioned phones.

another lg vx4400 owner here. I just signed on with Verizon in December and have been very happy this first month. Nice phone. Battery life is not a big issue for me as I usually charge it every other night anyway. I talked the whole time on my way home from Washington DC to Syracuse, NY and no dropped calls. I'm loving the reception.

I have the a600 for sprint, I am not happy with the size and no external LCD.

I have the LG VX6000

reception is as good as any Verizon has ever put out and I only have to charge my phone once every three days or so. It takes me apprx 2 1/2 hours to charge my phone from dead. The pic quality is surprisingly good for a phone and the other bells and whistles that the phones offers are quite fun.

🙂

yeah. thats why i posted it first, its the one im least excited about out of those 3 choices. im just curious to see the swivel screen and outside lcd.

i think im going to go with the audiovox 9900 though. it has everything. dual color screens (i hear the quality of the inside screen is truly impressive), camera is a rumored 1 mega-pixel w/ flash, can record 15 seconds of video, has 6.5 MB's of memory, you can customize the inside and outside graphics, has a little flashlight, said to be trimode so it can support analog signals, voice dialing, a speakerphone, and so many more options. talk and standby time is good also. and its built by toshiba, who make good quality audiovox phones, as opposed to hyundai, who make problem-heavy audivox phones.

the swivel screen is a novelty. You only really use it when you take pictures of yourself. The camera isn't very high on my list of features right now, build quality, feel, and interface are my biggest things.

I've had the VX4400 for a bit now. There's a lot more community support for it than the VX6000 in terms of the BREW stuff I think. VX6000 runs a newer version...

Anyway, I have not had any problems with reception, compared to T-Mobile I guess anything would be good. I've been able to make calls in the basement of my University Center. Pretty bad @$$.

Verizon is awesome, their phones are usually behind though when compared to GSM offerings.

My buddy has this phone (or a very similar version), but he doesn't have Verizon as a carrier. It really is impressive. We were at a club a few weeks ago and he was taking little movie clips of all the hotties out on the dance floor, showing me how the quality was, and I must say, for a video taken with a freakin cell phone, the quality was extremely good.

Are any of these phones PTT (push-to-talk) capable? That's going to be a must on my next cell phone that I purchase. Camera, eh, I can take it or leave it.

or the redone T730 (just a t730 with software upgrade) i have it and HATE it.

I don't have verizon (t-mobile here) but my T722i has to be the best phone I have had yet. True, I have not tried very many phones, but to me this one is better than my old Nokia 8290, SE T68, and SE T610. Just my opinion though
