Verizon or T Mobile for data service...

My contract is about to expire with Verizon. I want to get a blackberry.

Which do I go with?

Verizon makes me mad... and GSM rules... but they do have good service.

Cingular for Data! It's UTMS in Boston

Tmobile sucks for Data... unless you do the 5.99 route

Verizon does give by far the best coverage in most areas, but they're pricy & they sell crippled phones/PDA's.

blackberry 8830 just came out for verizon today*.


*technically its available to the business channels first and then retail the 28th of this month, but i hear telesales may roll over for an individual.

T Mobile has longer battery life right? Since GSM uses less power?

Tmobile utterly sucks w/ data. My roommate has the blackberry 8800 for tmobile, and it's slow as hell.

If you want DATA go with sprint, they have the fastest data network, if you can't do sprint then go with Verizon, they are the next fastest. Both blow away TMoble or Cingular (ATT) for data.

pretty sure that is for the pcmcia card and computer usage
data plans for phones are much, much cheaper (ours is free with the plan)

My friend works for Verizon.
I get to test out all the new cellphones.
He has a Q that his work gave him and it has unlimited Internet. It's 'OK". Gets laggy a lot (but I only tested it inside his townhouse. He claims outside it is faster).

My other friend has a blackberry with Tmobile. The one with individual keys for each letter.
The sites seem to load faster with the Blackberry, but I never touched the thing before. He just pops it out does some crap and he has an answer in seconds.

Verizon guy tells me "Verizon is the best. it is more expensive for a reason. We are number one and the most expensive because we got better coverage. Tmobile is called shitmobile. Cheapest out there because it is the shittiest".

Tmobile guy swears his thing is better than Verizon and doesn't have any problems at all.

So.. I didn't really help.. but I would go with T-Mobile.
