I suspect this will be another Moto Droid type success, and that Android tablets will mirror what's happened with smartphones, a gazillion tablets on multiple carriers.

If Netflix will release an app for Android, I'll buy one... (not sure which one, but that's the fun of watching the industry). Owning a WiFi & a 3G tablet, I think I'll opt for a WiFi version, seems whenever I want to use a tablet, ( a bit more involved than whipping out a phone) there's free WiFi I can use...

Any major players with products they can release before Christmas will be announcing them this quarter, people that buy big ticket items for Christmas like to plan their purchases, so they have to announce now or very soon to ensure good Christmas sales...

I don't think tablets will be as successful as smartphones, but I do think we need official support from Google before tablets really start doing well (Android).

I guess it could bring about a rennaissance and redesign of the European shoulder bag. :)

Reading between the lines, and taking into account Google's collaboration with Moto on the Droid, I have a feeling it's going to be supported.

I think Google is out of the hardware game for the time being at least, ie: no "Google" branded tablets, but they'll lend their support & expertise to tablet manufacturers.

Moto needs to get a product out there, they have the "Droid" name recognition going, and can carry over some styling cues from it's phone lines (black, square, nearly sharp edges, etc)

If they throw in a couple of cameras, an SD card slot, etc, it'll be a great device, but as I said, they need to release a WiFi only version alongside the 3G...

Yep, one of the funniest posts in an iPad forum I read was about a guy looking at shoulder bags, and another poster asked him if he was gonna buy matching shoes... I blew coffee out of my nose when I read it :D

Considering the fact that there are multicast channels built into the LTE spec, they may offer 3 "flavor" tiers.

-An LTE UE device with IRAT hand down capability and WiFi
-Vanilla EV-DO capable w/ WiFi
-WiFi only
