Verizon Loses Internet Connection when Bit Comet is Running.

Ever since i changed to Verizon DSL, the $29.95 plan in New Jersey,
Within 5 minutes, everytime i try running Bit Comet, Verizon loses connection.
The connection goes on and off for hours if Bit Comet is left running.

I've tried lowering the amount of downloads to 10 and lowering the speed of
DL's and it still continues this pattern.
Shutting off zone alarm and protowall made no difference as well.


Any idea whats the cause of this problem?

Odds are that you're maxing out your connections. Try reducing the number of connections, not just the number of downloads.

Is this done within the modem?

it's due to bad hardware, most likely it's your modem

Have you made any changes to the modem through the administrative page?

I turned on a firewall feature on the modem itself, and bizarrely when I ran BitTorrent programs it would freeze and then reset the modem. Turned the 'feature' back off and solved the problem.
