Problem with the iphone, if it goes Verizon, when you buy a Verizon CDMA phone, you are stuck in the US, since other countries typically suck the nut with CDMA coverage.

All those iphone commercials about being on a phone call and sending the person your on the call with a email to google maps won't work with verizon right? They can't use data and voice at the same time?

I think you mean mobile phone industry. Last time i checked, Mac OS X was still around 5% in the personal computer market share.

Doesn't mean they can't influence it. As I said before, look at all the laptops with long battery life and chiclet keyboards, edge to edge glass, backlit keyboards, and decent trackpads (very few have all of the above). Then, try and recall how many there were before the latest MacBook Pros. (hint: the number is remarkably close to Zero).

if there is no front-facing camera iphone for AT&T then i might have to cancel AT&T and switch to VZW...I hope VZW has far better 3G data network than AT&T.

I wouldn't use my iPhone when I was outside the country anyway. The international roaming charges suck!

Honestly, the idea of a Verizon iPhone isn't as appealing to me as it was 2 years ago. Verizon's smartphone selection sucked back then, but now they have a good selection of Palm and Android-based smartphones to choose from. As much as I like my iPhone, I'd be tempted to pick up one of those instead if they were cheaper or came with a cheaper data plan.

Oh yeah, forgot, ATT.... The current tethered jailbreak sucks too :(
An untethered jailbreak has been developed. I'm not sure if we'll see it before the next iPhone though (although the fact of the matter is that Apple has us pretty whipped this round; the 3GS has spent most of its life locked up since so few units can be jailbroken untethered).
