OK a little background on my situation. So I forgot my password to my Verizon galaxy tablet. I tried hard resetting and the screen got stuck on Odin mode were it said 'do not turn off downloading package" or something along those lines. Iy was stuck for like 20-30 min then, The battery died I guess so it turned off on its own. Now when its on the charger the buttons next to the home buttons flash on for like 5 sec then turn off. Why? I tried different chargers and stuff. Anyways I called support and they said it could have been that I need to reinstall the firmware and everything will be like new is this correct? If so can you guys please point me to the right direction or tutorial please cause I don't wanna brick it.

My battery was probably completely dead so that's why it was not turning on but now I just need to know how to reinstall the firmware since I'm trying to hard reset the device since its not accesible

See if you can get into recovery mode, usually its volume UP and power on their tablets. It might charge in recovery mode, and will likely charge in download mode too. Connect to AC in the wall, do not use USB to charge in this scenario.

Register at samfirmware.com and you can find a stock flashable package typically for your device. You can then flash that through download mode using ODIN or heimdall.

I'm curious what you did specifically to get it into this state, but if you cannot get it to charge you are kind of boned in terms of flashing new firmware. I would absolutely not flash a firmware package with less than 30% battery, it will end in pain.

The charging problem is solved it turns on now I guess it was that it needed to be fully charged before turning on but here's the new problem. I went into recovery mode and chose wipe dadta and factory reset. It just restarted my phone and still had the lock acreen . so now do I need to go into Odin mode and install the stock firmware? If so can u point me to the right direction

They told you where to go. Sammobile to get your firmware. You might even be able to download kies and fix it that way by doing a emergency restore.

I saw that when I used kies last night to update my galaxy s5
