I live in North Dallas, actually in Addison. I currently have Time Warner cable as my internet provider, and after reading the Hammer Smash job with the 80 year old lady and Comcast, I no longer want to be a cable customer.

I am looking into Verizon FIOS. I went to the site and did a look up of my address, and they cant find it. I am in a nice housing development right off the tollway, and my neighbors have Verizon phone and DSL, so I know they service here.

I checked the following site and it seems to be all around me:

http://www.dslreports.com/gmaps/fios Check for zip code 75287. You will see Addison.

What are the chances of me actually getting FIOS? I thought they did fiber all over the DFW area, but I could be wrong.

Anyone workd for FIOS and can check for me?

As you can see, I live about 500 yards from two people who claim they have FIOS.

Probably tomorrow?

And, I'm sure that your development isn't as "nice" as you say.

I was in Plano for training a few weeks ago and saw a couple of Verizon trucks running fiber, so maybe soon

Now. Constantly. They're laying out new fiber every day. It takes time though. We can't tell you when they'll hit your neighborhood.

Are you in Verizon territory? The lines between AT&T and Verizon have to be somewhere. Many unlucky people live within 100 yards of a terminal and cannot get service... Check the NID (phone box)on the side of your home, by the power meter. If you cant do this, then check the pedestals in the area. They might be rear easement which would involve peeping over fences and whatnot.

Thanks for sticking up for me guys, I pay enough to live in the area I live....and for someone who does not know the area and tries to belittle me pisses me off.

I actually dont know much about the phone line stuff at all. I think this weekend I am going to call and have a tech come out and see.
