Verizon Data Overage Charges?

Hi all, I'm probably going to go over my 2GB cap this month on my Razr M. How much does Verizon charge for overages for someone who isn't on a family plan? It's very confusing since information about this typically pertains to the family plan. Thanks in advance.

So, are you new to a LTE phone? How many months have you been using one?
The reason I ask, is that I have personally found that I blow through twice as much data than I did on 3g, doing the exact things. When I had an iPhone 4 on Verizon, I used about 1.5gb per month. Now I have a Nexus & I use 3.5gb consistently, with the same usage pattern.

For an emergency, one-time thing, it's not too bad. It would add up quickly if you do it a lot, though.

FWIW, Verizon lets people increase their data cap as long as they have not yet been billed for it (i.e., you could call and raise it to 4GB and pay something less than $10/GB). For the shared plans at least...I don't see why they wouldn't do the same for individual.

Rule of thumb is that you pay twice as much for data you go over. Since its basically $10 for every 2GB in the plan, that is $5 per GB. So for overages its $10 per GB in 1GB increment. I believe there is a max cutoff in how much they will charge as well (like stop charging per GB after $100 or $150 or so).

Usually they pro-rate that so it takes effect right away.

Nevermind, I went over the limit. It says that I can avoid the overage charge if I change my plan in time. Would that include changing to a family plan as well?
