Hey ATers,

I'm thinking of signing up for the Verizon $15. DSL plan. If you're already hooked up on the plan, let me know how it's going. All I saw here when I did a search was people having problems - at least I picked up a lot of info and links in case I habe a problem. But that's not unusual - no reason to post if things are going swimmingly. Looks like I'd be happy with it (if it works as advertized) as I've been puttering along at under 50kbps for a loooooong time now.

Well, since I didn't get any response, I went ahead and signed up. Will I regret it?
I'd be interested in hearing from anyone already using Verizon DSL so I'm basically bumping for fresh eyes.

My GF's parents signed up middle of the month....package came a few days later with the 327W wireless router/modem combo. Not sure how well it'll perform since their service activation date was set for Feb.6th. I'll try to post back when I get everything setup for them. Was hoping they'd give a separate modem & router but for the extra $15 it seemed good enough for them.

Only thing I know is with the $15 plan you only get about 750KBS Download Speed ... If you are close to the Central Office, say under 2 miles, then for $29.95 you can get full speed dsl service which is around 3MBS Download .. in my case, I am almost 3 miles from the central office, so with the $29.95 plan I get just under 1800KBS download or just over half of full speed ... not too bad, better than dial up

Thanks,
. I figure for $15. I'll be a lot better off than my $10. dial-up at 46 or 48kbps. I'd still like to hear from anyone about direct experience with the $15. service.

I got my DSL hooked up this morning - about 2.5 days ahead of schedule! I'm only getting about 660 of my 756 kb/sec. but I understand that's fairly typical for DSL depending on distance from the equipment building... Any tips on regaining some of that speed?
