Verison DSL connection problems

Alright, lately my Verison DSL has been acting up. Basically I lose the connection but it kinda trickles through. Like- my browser doesn't immidiately go to a page cannot be found screen but tries to connect instead. I can still connect to the router (192.168.1.1) when this happens so I know it's between the router and the modem. The only fix that has been working for me is turning off both computers and then pulling the power plug on the modem for about 5 minutes then turning everything back on. Anyone have any idea what the problem is? Thanks.
