Verifying DMI Poll Data - stuck after a restart

I just installed everything into the case for a new build, and everything was fine. I had the Windows install disc in the CD-ROM and it began its setup. But, I did not have my keyboard connected, so I had to turn the comp off to connect the keyboard when I was prompted if I was to install or repair windows. I might have had the boot order with the HD last though, that I am unsure of.

On the restart after changing the bios to boot the HD before the CD, I am getting the Veryifying DMI Pool Data problem. It is hard drive related. When I pool the SATA cord for the HD, I do not get the problem. The motherboard is detecting a hard drive, has it capacity listed.

I went ahead of with a Windows install, first formatting this drive. Windows does not seem to care. Is that the issue? Need to format the drive first?

I am using a Gigabyte motherboard, and tried making it a master, but was unable to figure that out. EDIT - changing the SATA ports changed it to primary, but still has same problem.

couple things Ive seen that may cause this are no floppy installed but BIOS is set to floppy exists, or the SATA port is set to IDE emulation not ACHI (or vice versa).

might try to reset the BIOS or tell the BIOS to reset/redetect DMI pool.

Exactly, if you don't have a floppy drive make sure to disable it in the BIOS. If you do but you want the first boot drive to be CD/DVD rom drive make sure to set that as your first boot device in the BIOS.

I've also seen this error if you have usb devices plugged in at boot that may be recognized to boot to, so either unplug those or disable USB boot option in BIOS.
