the rebate is backed up by Verbatim. Never had issues with their rebates. If you don't receive in, just call the toll-free number on the rebate form
 
How's the compatibility of this media (and other DL media) for set-top players? I was talking to a friend the other day and he said he had issues when the stuff first came out, but for you DL freaks and experienced users, how is the media handling now?

verbatim's dl media is about the best out there right now, plays on three separate dvd players i have at the house-a word of advise though- use the 2.4 speed, even if it will burn faster
 
I use these discs on a bunch of players and they all work great. I burn at 6X on my Plex 716-SA with booktype set to DVD-ROM. I think the booktype is the key with compatibility of these discs.

I concur. Excellent media, I have used a NEC 4551 and a Benq 1655, no problems on any dvd player.

BB have these for $20 about every other week. Sam's Club have a 30 pk for under $60 LINK
