After shopping around I realized this is quite a good deal. Buying two made it even better as shipping was reduced. I haven't purchased CD-R's for some time so I had to look around. I was very surprised to see how much cheaper Newegg was than other sites. Some sites only have the 30 pack, some have 30 and 25 packs.

40 cents apiece for CD-Rs?
Sorry, but I don't think so.
I pay less than that for lightscribe DVDs.

No you don't. Definetely not for Verbatim LightScribe DVDs. Prove it and post a link.

Not only that but if for some reason you did find them then I can pretty much guarentee the quality will suck at that price. There aren't very many manufacturers of LightScribe DVD's right now, and Verbatim is by far the best. I don't even think there are others that use the same media code, MCC - although TDK may use MCC as well. CMC is what most of them you will find are, and the quality isn't even close.

They're one of those stores that is banned for reasons unexplained. Like Che(i)f Value.

Nice deal there though!

I've been looking for some good Taiyo Yuden CDrs...you don't see deals on ANY CDrs much these days, much less high quality ones.

Is this the best I'm going to do for CDrs where I don't have to worry about them breaking down? I don't really care about lightscribe.

Edit: Are those TY CD spindles at super media store the same as the made in Japan Fuji's that I swear by? Cuz I can't find those anymore and I need some new CDs.

I sincereley hope you do well with the Philips. I own a lot of Philips products (and they have more than one plant location in my area), but I have had nothing but horrible experiences with their blank CD-R's. As a matter of fact it was after buying their CD-R's on sale and throwing most away that I decided that going forward I'd get only the best, and for me that's been Verbatim. Oh, a nice thing about these is they aren't all the same color. So I organize mine by color. The Lightscribe burns look different depending on the color. I really like Lightscribe, I almost never burn to my printable CD-R's anymore. The different colors is a small thing, but still, I like it. And it's true, you don't see the great CD-R deals of years past. There was a time you almost didn't have to pay for good CD-R's. You just waited for them to rebate-out to $0. Oh well, truth be told I don't burn many CD-R's now anyway, I burn more DVD's. These 50 will last me for a good while.

Good quality ones?

I've been burning CDrs for over 10 years now (I remember my first Smart and Friendly 2x SCSI burner) and I can tell you that I've had plenty of crap-brand CDrs simply deteriorate. Granted, I'm only burning music (because why wouldn't you burn a DVD-r if you wanted data) but still. I decided a long time ago to only use the nicer brands. No point otherwise.

Verbatim 16x Lightscribe DVD+R - 20pack 2.99 AR Way dead deal, but they can occasionally be found cheap.

Last time I bought them they were Verbatim DVDs on sale for $2.99 a 10 pack. Couldn't find the link, but I'm pretty sure it was posted in Hot Deals.
