I have used Verbatim DataLife in the past with excellent results. At Provantage.com I found they are selling bulk Verbatim 12x rated cdr 100 pieces for $36.60
Go to http://www.provantage.com and do a hardware search and look under cdrecorders. I cant get the actual url for the page to work. Here is how they list it

the verbatim datalifeplus CDs are the BEST, it's cool too when you burn it, the underside turns into a dark purple color, but be careful of verbatim's Valuelife CD's, I find it hard to believe that Verbatim datalifeplus is being sold for $36.6

-probably just protection, anyway they do have 30-day money back guarantee, no restock on unopened items, so might be worth a try. Also they can change prices upon you ordering it but will contact you before of course.

Hey Guys I was using Verbatim for about a year. They're alright, but I've found a new brand. Kingston, yes Kingston rules...I've burned about 25 out of a 50 pack. No coasters yet, I'm using the 8x 700mb discs. You can get them at outpost.com for like $19.95 plus FREE Overnight Shipping...Great Deal! I would go there to check out the deals.

Type in CDR in the Search.

Someone bought some Kingston brand media and that CD Id program identified it as CMC Magnetics brand. I believe imation uses CMC Magnetics a lot for their CD-Rs and my drive never has a problem with Imations, so i would assume that the quality of the Kingstons would be just as good as the imations.

Remember, Verbatim datalife plus CDR's also work great for playstation backups. I've also been fairly successful with Verbatim's cheaper, inferior 'valuelife' brand.

I still have some of those Verbatim Data Life Pluses....Can you really use those for back-up copies of PSX games? I thought I needed an internal patch to be able to play those. Am I right or misinformed? Thanks.

Has anyone been able to confirm through ProVantage whether or not they are selling the 50 or 100-pack? I would love to pick up the deal if it's the 100.

I just called on the phone and ordered... the guy said it was indeed a 100 pack, but of course he's just reading what is on his screen...
*shrugs* I need CD-Rs anyway... if it's 50, it's still a decent price for these... if it's 100 I got a great deal...

I just called them and the guy said that it was a product mixup. The 50 pk should have been listed at that price. However, they could not catch all the orders. I ordered it at around 2:00, so they might not have caught mine. Cross your fingers.

ADDED: Damn it! They caught me!

I ordered the CDs earlier after getting this email:

"Part VBTM16L is for the 100 pack, a new code will be entered today the 50.

If they rang up as $36.60 as listed. They changed the price on the page listing the general info, but if you click through, it still says $36.60... and goes into the cart as that.

Hey Guys!
Don't forget Outpost.com has 50 12x 80min CDR spool for $19.95 with FREE OVERNIGHT SHIPPING. Even if you buy 2 spools with the cost of shipping on the others you would still come out ahead. Just got my spool of 50 today Woohoo!

those kingston cdr's at outpost are of poor quality, it's okay if you burn only for the PC, but if you do a wide range of burning (car audio, backups, etc.) like I do then you should look elsewhere

*I LOVE the purple undersides of verbatim's cds*

There are three kinds of Verbatim CDRs.

DataLife Plus (Best for PSX backup. Most expensive. Dark blue color. Only seen with jewel case packs.)
DataLife (Dark green color. Color 10-pack.)
ValuLife (Dark green color. Seen in spindles.)

If color is any indication of quality, the DataLife and ValuLife are just as bad as the Imations I have.
