Venice and OC'ing(kind of)

I am in the Market for a A64 3200+(or 3500+ or 3700+) and was made a great offer on a 3200+. The only thing is its not a "great" OC'er. This was his message back to me when asking about it.

"An OEM Athlon 64 3200+ Venice. I've had it for about 5 months now. It's not a particularly great overclocker, it does somewhere around ~2250 on stock, 2.4 ~ 1.5v and 2.53 @ 1.6v. I've run it @ 2.53 since day one. Heat wasn't an issue, even in my Shuttle because of the Venice's low power consumption. "

He wants 135 shipped for it. Should I go for it? I'm going to put it into this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813123258
and pair it with a 6800GS(although i might end up with a x800gto2 but thats no important here)

What do you think?

It's a good price for the Venice. The Venice is OK when it comes to OCing, but it's no Opteron 148. I got it to 2.4Ghz at 1.56.
You might not want that mobo. I've heard pretty bad reports on the fan being loud and random reboots.

its a terrible overclocker, but that's a fine price if you're not too worried about overclocking.

I guess I'm asking is it cool(no pun intended) to rin it at 1.6V to get it to 2.5? Thats a pretty big difference from stock 2.0

Anyone? Should I jump on this or wait for one that will to higher OC's? This one has been proven to do 2.. If i go retial, i get guaranteed nothing? What do you think?

1.6v isn't that big of a deal... I personally don't think the price is that hot... I'd rather spend $25-30 more and get a brand new retail one... I bought a new 3200+ from Tankguys for $160 that was a decent overclocker (2.4 @ 1.44v on stock cooler!)

You might not have a choice, I don't know if I'm getting any more BP Venices

I *think* they are EOL by AMD, and are replaced by the CG, E4 stepping version.
