Venice 3000+ retail hsf

I have all my parts for a new build and I purchased a retail 3000+ so I have a hsf. My Arctic Silver 5 and zalman 7700alcu are on the way, but I dont really want to wait for them. How much of a pain would it be if I used the stock hsf and whatever thermal paste or pad they come with for now and switch them out for the newer parts in a few days? Does the thermal stuff wipe off easily and is the hsf easily changed out once everything is in the case or should I just wait?

be a man and wait it out. don't waste time applying, removing, and reapplying heatsinks. it's time consuming and you could be outside doing something more productive.

its 11:40 and i just got home from work and really dont have much to do and am excited to build it, i just dont want to f--- anything up or cause lots of unneeded trouble. How much of a pain would it be to remove all the crap once everything is settled in the case and put AS5 and the zalman on in a few days?

It's not that hard to redo it later.

Build it now & enjoy it 😛

You can always switch them when you get the Zalman.

no hassle at all, it just takes patience. put stock paste on, then heatsink, when new hsf comes, run some prime or heavy programs to heat up the cpu as high as it can go. then turn off cpu, quickly take off heatsink, clean, apply new stuff. then there's the need to replace the brackets for different sockets depending on what cpu you are using. but then again i never used a zalman.

I have the chaintech vnf4 ultra. Does anyone know if I need to change out the backplate for the 7700alcu? I can get the front bracket off easily enough but the backplate would invovled taking the whole mobo out of the tray.
