This is going to do wonders for getting US oil companies to invest in Venezuela. Nothing makes people want to work in another country like a having a sense of personal danger.

Yeah, Trump's such a great businessman. Kidnap the leader of a country, killing dozens, followed immediately by a threat to do much worse if the remains of the government does not bend the knee to let him come in and take the country's resources. Then he expects the country to be ingratiating to American companies and their workers. Great job.

Chevron is the only game in town here. Nobody else has any desire whatsoever to deal with this. I expect PDVSA to export its own production through them, for which Chevron will pay them market price.
