Can Vehicle Diagnostic Tools be "borrowed" from auto places? I have a service engine light soon lit on my wife's Nissan Sentra, and I want to make sure it's not something stupid like the gas cap sensor before I bring it in.

I thought I read a thread in here where someone went to AutoZone and they let him use it in the parking lot for free.

I called Pep Boys, and they have no clue what I'm talking about.
