I Kickstarted Camegeddeon: Reincarnation and finally played for about an hour. I liked it, and plan on spending some time with it. Looks like pretty lukewarm reviews from Metacritic.

Is anyone else playing?

Oddly enough I never played the old games. (until this year) These came out when I was completely broke and too busy to play them anyways. So, I have no reference to compare to the old games. The old games were so popular, I was surprised I didn't see a thread about this..

Which made me think, what the hell happened to Road Rash? I know EA took the fun out NFL and NHL, so was it just a "Mindless Violence", too "not Politically Correct" thing? I guess a title like that would attract too much "Violence Police" attention, more than they were probably willing to put up with. But, with all the FPS games and horror games out there, really?

On Kickstarter and Steam they have an intriguing game called "Road Redemption" which is essentially a complete lift of RR. They even have a story element of you being an initiate of a motorcycle gang, gunning to be major drug runner of the midwest. $20 for early access at Steam.

Has anyone bitten yet? I'd do it, but I swear I'm not buying/playing anything new until I finish Pillars of Eternity and then Wasteland 2, so I'm going to be busy. (I might still bite on this so I can have something I can play in small chunks) :)

I have RR. It's pretty good actually, but obviously far more fun with beers and actual people than just solo. I haven't played in a while but my last play noted many improvements over previous versions. Once it releases, recommend.

For Road redemption look up jacksepticeye video called KILLING OTHER YOUTUBERS | Road Redemption Part 2.

I got on both Road Redemption & Carmageddon Reincarnation on KS and both are enjoyable, especially in groups. Both are worth it.

is it as good as the 2nd iteration? Whichever one the 3d one was. The vehicle deformation was so awesome and I loved the fun perks you could get, like giant wrecking ball attachment.

I'd say yes, all the old powerups (like the ball & chain) are back and there's mod support too. You can already get pretty much all the C1, C2 & C:TDR2K cars in Reincarnation too via mods. There's a guide in the forums for how to change the ingame music to the music from C1, C2 etc or whatever you want it to be.

There's nothing quite like C:R with some Iron Maiden from C2 while your mates are trying to wreck your ride.

A modern remake was all I reallly wanted, sounds right up my alley :)

All I've really heard about the new Carmageddon is that the performance is really, really bad. It appears to be faithful to it's roots though, so as a fan of the first couple, I'd be interested if they fix up that issue.

The performance wasn't bad at all for me.

AMD 8320
GTX970
12GB RAM

Nothing spectacular, but not bad. :)
