Hey EagleKeeper:
I have a question about hop bets....that question would be...what the heck are they exactly? my friend bets them all day long and they will only allow them in vegas we have found. i have yet to get them explained.
The Hop bet is where you are betting on a specific number combination being thrown on the next role of the dice.
A player (sucker) may say 4/5 hopping. If the dice show a 4 and a 5 then they would get paid 15 times the amount of the bet.
if the dice show a 6 and a 3, that would be a loss for the above hop bet.
This is a one time bet per roll.
wow...he really does play dumb. He is pretty rich so he plays big. He sure doesnt play smart though. He will bet the line coming out then play the hard ways....every time he loses a hard way he doubles it up. then he makes hop bets. The casinos love him. He sure does get a lot of "free" stuff. The trip takes place for the final four every year. It used to be the superbowl but we wanted better weather. I dont think I will be there this year due to my wife giving birth a week before it this year.
Betting the line is fine. The Prop bets (any bet that is a single shot) and the field are there to increase the percentage for the house.
Best percentage bets for you are the Line & Come (Black/ or non-black) with the highest odds that you can stomach.
The odds are payed true.
thats basically how I play it. Pass line with full odds...usually then place a bet on 6 and 8 and try to get 2 hits then pull em back then wait for the point and start all over again.
Of course if a roller gets hot I try to parlay the 6 & 8's into buying the line with the casinos money.
