Get VIP passes online for Club Rain or Voodoo Lounge, etc. It doesn't cost much and you get right in.
since it's memorial day weekend, i'm getting quoted $200/pp for entrance with these VIP passes

i'd rather skip them altogether than waste my money/time on such garbage

Why are you going to Vegas? Doesn't make sense for a couple deal unless you were getting married by Elvis, looking for some group sex at a brothel, etc.

Cruise ships have better gambling and couples events a lot of times.

hmmm...

Go off the strip and get some amazing Thai food at Lotus of Siam.
Maybe hit up the ol' LuvIt Frozen Custard and split a western special sundae for dessert at some point.
Bouchon in Venetian is a restaurant well worth visiting.
I don't know about the whole dessert in Paris thing unless you're going for the whole romantic faux Parisian thing. I might skip across the street and hit up Serendipity in Caesar's instead and really go decadent.

I live here and can really give you endless restaurant recommendations if you want.

Do you have any sushi suggestions?

Also, which is the best lunch buffet?

Go see a Cirque Du Soleil show. Mystere and O are my favorites, followed by KA. Zumanity I wasn't a fan of so much...it was just meh. I could watch the shows a dozen times without getting bored. They are the best attraction on the strip, IMO.

Also, don't forget to go to Fremont Street.

I hate Cirque Du Soleil. Give me a straight up circus act, none of that artsy fartsy shit.

Seriously, don't bother with any holiday weekend - the prices are jacked way up. We made that mistake last year (and yes, I did go with my GF). You'll be better off taking a day off work and going on a regular weekend.

Best buffets are widely considered to be Bellagio or Wynn. I prefer Bellagio because I like their desserts better but you can't go wrong with either.

Heh I actually don't do buffets so I can't help you there. I do know most people consider Bellagio, Paris and Wynn to have the best buffets though.

As for sushi, on the strip it gets pricey. Shibuya in MGM is pretty good although I haven't been there in quite some time and I sense it has fallen out of favor. And again, if you're willing to venture off the strip you could hit up Sen of Japan. The chef there used to work at Nobu in the Hard Rock which is one of the best, so you get similar food at a much lower price. Okada in Wynn is supposed to be very good also. If you want some next level shit with astronomical next level prices then Bar Masa in Aria is all the rave. I haven't gone there, it really is that prohibitively expensive. You could also try Raku off the strip which isn't sushi, per se, but more just Japanese food with emphasis on Yakatori and housemade tofu.

i think we're likely to remain close or on the strip

Well, Thai food at Lotus of Siam is a couple blocks off the strip then and well worth the visit (and easy to get cabs from). I'd probably hit up Nobu for your sushi.

Done Wynn twice now and Bellagio like 4 times. I don't see what' so good about Wynn.

But seriously, the new buffet to check out is the M Buffet. It's off strip and further away but it consistently keeps getting awards and raves. You also get unlimited beer and wine I believe.

Uhm. They always rip you off for those. If it's just 1 guy, 1 girl, you should be ok. Now the question is hwere are you going? Are you going to see Tiesto? If so you're gonna pay a lot. But typically, 1 guy 1 girl should get into ANY CLUB for free. Now it's MDW so I understand you'll have to pay for the megaclubs (Marquee, XS, Surrender, Tao), but I suggest you look up some promoters on JackColton and text them for details. The only time I've paid for a club was the one time I was retarded and our friends didn't know anything. Since then I've always been put on guestlist, and if you have guys only just say you have an even number of girls. Then go grab a random group of girls to just go in with you. Done. Pay $0.

BTW OP, you mentioned pool. Which pool were you thinking. I see you also mentioned pool passes, so I'm thinking you meant pool parties?

Wet Republic, Rehab and Encore Beach Party are your best parties on Sunday, but there are of course others easier to get into like Tao Beach and Liquid.

Edit: Seems I'm still seeing typical prices on clubs for guestlists. Ladies free or $10 at most. Guys anywhere from $20-$40.

You guys into the Beatles? I haven't been but my boss swears by "LOVE".

Bellagio's O is probably one of the best Cirque shows in Vegas.

For clubs, I had wanted to check out Moon and LAX

for the pool parties, we may just have to wing it, the original idea was to rent a cabana but the places i've looked into are all sold out
