Vegas or Caribbean Cruise?

As my wife and myself are going to celebrate our 25th Anniversary at the end of July, which of these trips would you consider as the better. Budgets are the same, itineraries are picked out, both are are an ideal vacation. Which would you choose? Love to do both, but got to save up something for the 26th.
 
Do the Cruise, a girl I work with goes on them every year and she loves them. Vegas IMO isn't that great unless your single.

My vote is for caribbean but if you have already gone down there before go to vegas and vice versa...
 
Go for the cruise. You can gamble on the boat, but you cannot wake up in a new country each morning in Vegas. Errr....I guess at the rate Vegas is going, maybe you can?😕

Of course, if you've never been to Vegas it is something that you have to do.
 
Haven't been to either one, but this year is a BIG one. Well, they're all big. They keep getting better all the time. She's a great woman.

Not true... my wife and I went last July and had a blast together. There was always something to do. (word of caution though... it gets hotter than a merf in July... 123 degrees one day while we were there.)

Being a "beach" guy, I prefer tropical climes...
Although I think there's more to "do" in Vegas in terms of crazy stuff to see...
 
Well, I'm young, and I would prefer Vegas. My grandparents are old, and they have done the cruise and Vegas, and they go back to Vegas twice a year. You are probably between both of these groups, so you should also go to Vegas, especially if you get sea sick easily :disgust:
 
I suggest an Alaskan Cruise if you're traveling in July. The Caribbean is too hot and muggy in July and Las Vegas is a freakin' oven. The prime season for Caribbean cruising is January, February and March. It's simply beautiful that time of year.

Alaska, on the other hand is drop dead gorgeous in July. Your average temps will be in the low 70s and 80s, and the voyage of the glaciers is simply amazing.

For Alaska, Princess Cruises is best. Get a balcony room, they are very popular and affordable these days and you wont regret the extra cost.
 
Well - mid 40s isn't too old. My folks have been to Vegas 36x and counting, been on cruise to Jamaica, leaving next month for Alaska. We enjoy shows, scenery, not big gamblers though, and love the heat (don't get too much of that up here in Buffalo). 🙂 We'll have a great time no matter which one we go to.

Heat is one thing, but humidity is another. Personally I find the Caribbean unbearable during hurricane season, and I've lived in the South.
 
Id go for the Carribbean cruise. Ive been on 6-7 now and i still love going every time. I highly reccomend Royal Carribbean (Particularly their new Voyager Class ships). Freakin amazing! Pretty sure their still the worlds largest ships, and its great because with a ship that size nothing ever gets too crowded or buzy. Check em out here

My favorite would have to be eastern carribean, i fell in love with St. Thomas...

You know, it's funny but I hate the larger ships. I've always found the mid sized (around 80,000 tons) ships to be ideal.

I did too... Until i went on their newest ones... It had a rock climbing wall, ice skating rink, inline skating track, minigolf couse, 3 floor dining room, a 4 story mall running through the belly of the ship... It was AMAZING, i have some pictures here i can post. People usually like the intamacy of the smaller ships, but these are so big people were very spread out, so it gave the same effect.

Too bad Alaskan cruises are about 3.5 times as expensive as an equivalent Caribbean cruise. We were looking into Alaskan cruises for our honey moon, but it was going to cost nearly $3000-$4000 a person for a nice 12 day land and sea cruise. A 12 day Caribean cruise would have run us about $1200 a person.

I've been on the Voyager class ships. My first thought was, "if I had wanted to go to a mall, I would have stayed home." 🙂

Never trust brochure fairs. You can get great deals on Alaskan cruises if you know where to look.
 
I'd take the Caribbean...of course, that could be because I'm from California and hae already been to Vegas *way* too many times 🙂
