VE vs. LE

Uhhh... no....

The LE is a regular Radeon with HYPER z disabled(though it is EASILY re-enabled through a patch) and the VE is a totally different core, without the TnL unit and with the lack of a texture unit(i think). The LE is SUPERIOR to the VE, make no mistake.

Absolutely NO CONTEST. The VE is a crippled Radeon, with no Hardware T+L, and yeah, it's missing a texture unit...the LE is an OEM Radeon DDR, whose core is said to have failed ATi's testing at higher speeds, and is therefore clocked lower, and missing Hyper-Z in Direct3D ...it has every ablility/feature of the real Radeons, and whatever it's missing can be re-enabled with a few strings of text in the Windows Registry...
 
Both posters above did a nice job describing the LE, but remember that the VE features dual-monitor support. If that's what you need, it's a nice card, but if you want to play 3d games get the LE...
