Never attempted to juice DDR B4 and want to be safe n' stable

I hope my 450w OCZ modsteam with 520w peak is not going to be a problem
+3.3V(28A), +5V(45A), +12V(26A)
i'm not aiming for anything above 3.5v just want a moderate voltage with
a stable divider so I can unleash my opty144@9*300++

rig'd 2 clothes hanger wires into a clip to fit a 80mm fan!
It's now snug and motionless cooling over all ram slots
with approx 1 inch or so on each
side not in direct flow.. should do the trick..

Will this heat up the on-chip mem controller - only use retail stock HSF@1.45v

Any tips Welcome:)

I've never heard of any problems with a opty/a64 mem controller overheating. But watch that lil silver heatsink at the top right edge of board (by the ram jumper). When you are running dfi vdimm off 5v, that thing gets cooking.

I saw there is a trick to get the Ultra-D to go above 3.1 and keep
the vdimm on the 3.3 rail.

Seems you can just move the jumper over to 2 -3, but put the whole thing
down one notch skipping the first 3 pins and putting a traditional jumper
over 1 - 2

not sure why this would be better/worse...

all DDR is safe up to 2.95v i think.........i dont think id wanna push past 3volts unless i had spent some money on performance ram like the stuff from OCZ

Depends on your RAM, my Mushkin special pc-3200 BH-5 at 3.3 volts goes memtest stable to DDR500 @ 2-2-2-5 1T.
